This Includes

Vessel operators must file cargo information based on the Ocean (Master) Bill of Lading, at least 24 hours before departure from a port of loading. Likewise, NVOCCs must file cargo information based on the House Bill of Lading.

  • Importer Security Filing (ISF)
    This is the process for declaring cargo for inspection.
  • Vessel Stow Plans (VSP)
    These plans outline how containers will be stowed on vessels.
  • Container Status Messages (CSM)
    These messages provide shippers information about whether or not containers were loaded onboard.

​ISF Documents and ID Requirements

  • ISF Information Sheet from Seller (containing the AMS Master and House Bill of Lading numbers, Container Stuffing Location, Consolidator Name and address)
  • Invoice from Seller
  • State ID or Drivers License
  • Upload Proof of Tax ID # : Social Security or Business EIN #:
  • Individuals provide: Social Security Card, w2, or Tax Return
  • Business entities provide: IRS EIN confirmation letter, Articles of Incorporation or Corp. Tax Return

​ISF Documents and ID Requirements

Importers are required to submit a 10+2 ISF electronically of 10 data elements 24 hours prior to loading their shipments onto a vessel bound to the US.
