Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS)

Expediting clearance of US shipments

Who needs Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS)

Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS)

Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) is a joint initiative between the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). It examines pre-loaded air cargo for risk assessment prior to departure. However currently, freight forwarders and customs brokers need to prepare separate filings for low-value ecommerce shipments entering the US. This is often time consuming and expensive.

ACAS makes it easy for carriers and freight forwarders to send and receive security filing data and messages for all air cargo through CBP’s Automated Targeting System (ATS). Upload a single shipment file that will automatically create and simultaneously send out submissions for ACAS, ACE Air, and Type 86 to US Customs.
